About Me
I am an interdisciplinary PhD Researcher and former Senior ML Engineer specialising in evaluating the social and political impact of Large Language Models (LLMs). My research is funded through Responsible AI UK. I’m fascinated by the interplay between machine learning systems and the societies in which they evolve, and seek to understand them through mixed-methods approaches, combining computational social science, NLP pipelines, and human-centric experimental design.
Currently, my research is centred on investigating the risks of knowledge collapse presented by LLMs’ generative monoculture. In particular, I ask if there is a link between boring LLM output and the erosion of democracy. I am also interested in the practical, socio-technical approaches which could help us create a future we desire.
I’m always excited to discuss and collaborate on these topics, please reach out!
